Beauty Big Bang Review: Decals, Metallic Foil, and Holo Dust

Hello, lovelies! It's been a while, and I miss you! This time, I have some new items from Beauty Big Bang to review for you. Check out these beauties: a variety pack of decals with rainbow tweezers (item #ZHSP0623, $4.99), Halloween decals (item #J6506TM-4A, $1.99), metallic foil (item #U0901-4C, $0.69), and magic reflective holo dust (item #J6458TM-2C, $0.89). Check it out!

First, I want to get into this decal pack! It comes with 10 sets of water slide decals along with rainbow detail tweezers. I definitely recommend it. The decals are so simple: cut out the decal you want, peel off the film, use the tweezers to soak it in water for a few seconds (the longer it soaks, the easier it is to slide off the backing... around 30 seconds makes it come off really easy), slide the image off of the backing, position it on your nail, dab with some cotton to dry it off and press water out from underneath it, clean up the edges with acetone and a cleanup brush, then apply a topcoat. Too easy. You can tell by these designs that you have a lot of freedom with how your mani ends up looking. You can paint a basecoat of white or some other color before applying the decals, or you can just use it over bare nails for a cute peek-a-boo look.

And, of course, my Halloween nails! Ready to go to a themed party in minutes, and it looks so charming. These decal sets come with 12 nail decals, not just 10. That means you have lots of personalization in how you mix and match them.

This foil is so fun to work with. I just tore up little pieces and gently pressed them onto my painted nails. The foil is so great because it's 2-tone. The foil I chose has bright blue on one side and gold on the other. The foil is so delicate, I love the texture it gives to the design! Here's a bonus: I bet you're thinking that looks like a pain to remove? Nope. The foil is so thin, it just removes as easily as regular polish.

And now for the ultra mirror holo dust! I put the dust over black polish and white polish. There is just no way pictures can show the full mirror holo as reflective and colorful as it is in person. It's pretty easy to work with. Just use the sponge tool it comes with, and gently rub it onto your freshly-painted dry-to-the-touch nails. Shown below without topcoat!

Here's your juicy macro... It captures some of the rainbow!

Overall, I really enjoyed these items. The decal pack comes with so many options for different nail designs; good quality for a good price. I think my favorite was probably that metallic foil, it was so much fun. But the holo dust is so pretty too!. Influenster Review: Yves Saint Laurent Effet Faux Cils Mascara

Hello, lovelies! Today I am going to review the Yves Saint Laurent Effet Faux Cils ("false eyelash effect," named for the dramatic impact it has on your lashes) mascara. You may know YSL by their line of luxury cosmetics. They recently unveiled a new formula for a classic product.

This mascara contains pro-vitamins B5 which prevent your lashes from getting that brittle, crusty feeling. YSL also incorporated some oils including sweet almond oil, safflower seed oil, and castor seed oil which not only make it smell wonderful, but also nourish lashes. Wearing this mascara, my eyelashes still felt soft and supple at the end of the day.

YSL has released this mascara in a variety of colors. The color I received is called High Density Black. It creates a bold look that really helps my eyes pop. I like to switch between wearing eyeglasses and contact lenses depending on the day, and I find that my eyes lack energy when I don't have my glasses on. In order to help you see my transformation with this mascara, I've included photos to show before and after mascara shots of how my eyes look with and without glasses.

As you can see, it really boosted the length and volume of my lashes! One thing I like about this product is how it doesn't get clumpy or dried out in the tube. And, of course, who could not love the ultra-chic look of the tube? You can get this mascara for $32 at Sephora and high-end department stores such as Nordstrom and Saks Fifth Avenue. The price is a little higher than what my typical mascara costs (They're Real! by Benefit, $24) but if you have a sensitive nose like me, the smell alone may be worth the extra money. Add soft and nourished lashes to the mix and you may want to give YSL Faux Cils a try.
